Sparkk's newest collection, in collaboration with The Victoria and Albert Museum, has been such an incredible and exciting journey for us here at Sparkk.
The V&A describe themselves as "the world’s leading museum of art and design with collections unrivalled in their scope and diversity. Today, the V&A’s collections, which span over 2000 years of creativity in virtually every medium and from many parts of the world, continue to intrigue, inspire and inform".
The William Morris Collection is one of the two collections we relseased earlier this year, and we've just been loving the prints lately!
William Morris (1834-96), was one of the most important artistic figures of the 19th Century and continues to be just as influential today. His designs are influenced by medieval ideologies and a love of wild flora and fauna.
We are so very excited to be associated with the V&A and to be so privelleged to be working with the wonderful prints of William Morris. The Victoria & Albert Museum archives have been a wonderful and significant source and inspiration for textile designers for well over 100 years. This collection has been carefully curated by Sparkk and the V&A to bring forth the incomparable wonder living in these archives and to pay homage to the William Morris and his pace in history.
Below are a few of our favourite prints from the collection.
Strawberry Thief / Willow Bough / Anemone
Acanthus / Willow Bough / Anemone
